Cal Poly Pomona’s Horsehill Vineyards

2022 zinfandel Rosé

Collaboration, Ideas, and Design

This project was posed as an open ended design project to create the label for the new batch of Zinfandel Rosé coming out of Horsehill Vineyards at Cal Poly Pomona. The main goal that we kept in mind for this label design process was to create a design that stood out on the shelves in comparison to the other bottles on the shelf, and would stand out especially well at its primary point of sale in the CPP Farm Store.

The team for this project consisted of Quinn Hester, Kate Welborn, Celeste Seanez, Brian Chea, and Kevin Strawn.

Final Display Type

Typography Development

My main task for the bulk of the project was to tackle the typography. More specifically to create a display typeface for the main logomark on the front of the label that properly captured the sporadic and sprawling nature of the zinfandel grape vines’ branches, from which the grapes for this 2022 Zinfandel Rosé were grown.
